Meet The Team

AnicaRae, raised in the stunning Black Hills of South Dakota, shares her home with her fiancé Braeden who she has been with for almost 8 years. Flourishing in this supportive setting, AnicaRae explores her creativity through floral and interior design, art, photography, and reading, alongside her love for the outdoors. “I've always felt I have a more creative personality, and as I've grown older, I've come to truly appreciate and love every aspect of that,” she shares.

 

She has a great passion for animals, enjoying their company and caring for them. AnicaRae spends part of her time rescuing, rehoming animals, and practicing TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) in her community, demonstrating her strong commitment to animal welfare. Throughout her youth, she engaged in various sports, with a particular fondness for volleyball. "Having experience in a variety of sports enhances my understanding of what a real team should embody. This is why I genuinely believe Premier has one of the top teams," she states.

 

Having been in her position for over almost 2 years at Premier Surfaces, AnicaRae is truly passionate about her work. "The supportive atmosphere fostered by the owners has really made this the most rewarding workplace for me," she shares. She enjoys assisting customers in realizing their visions, skillfully advising them on how to combine stone options with cabinets, hardware, and paint hues. Creating mood boards for their stone selections has evolved into a beloved part of her job, helping numerous clients navigate their choices.

Since making Spearfish her permanent home in 2023, Leah Joy has fully embraced the lifestyle that comes with it. "There's just something about the Black Hills that I could never leave," she shares. "I've lived all over, but here I found all the community I could ask for - my passions, my people, and this magical scenery. I love riding my bike around town, sitting by the creek, soaking in the sunsets, and exploring the trails.  It calls to me, and I take so much pride in calling Spearfish my home."

 

LJ lives with her dog, cat, and loving boyfriend, Kyler.

 

With such a deep love and respect for the local culture, it was only natural for her to bring life to local businesses. "What I love most about Premier is that it feels like a family. I wouldn't have found my way here if it weren't for Kyler, so really, it's family that brought me, and it's more family I found."

 

"I love coming to work each morning to see pictures of the kittens Anica spent last night rescuing or hear about the rattlesnake Julie found in her garden," She laughs, "Don't worry, Levi took care of the snake." She added, "Whenever we face a problem, all our heads come together like the stone Power Rangers. It's so fun."

Outside of work and designing kitchens, LJ enjoys many activities, including volleyball, reading, yoga and acrobatics, lifting heavy weights, gardening, and figure skating. "There's just not enough time in the day," she says. "There's so much I love doing." When not traveling, she and Kyler can be found in the gym, at the park performing acro, or working on renovations to their 1910 home.
